| I figured this would be the best place to post this, maybe it could also go in general chat. The purpose of this is to teach people how to take a screenshot without having to use a camera, as a lot of people don't know how to do this, and it can make it much easier for people and staff to understand some of the things people talk about. If this has already been done, I apologize for the repetition.
If you're using a PC or Microsoft Windows:
Press the Print Screen button found on your keyboard. It is often labeled Prt Scr, Print Scrn, Prt Scn, Prt Sc or Prnt Scrn. If you look at the attathced picture (take from wikipedia) it will show you were the prt scr button is. On a PC, the screenshot will be in your "paste buffer". You must open paint (which you can find by going to start-> accessories->paint. Once paint is open, you can paste the screenshot into it, and save it as a file. Hit ctrl+v to paste the screenshot.
Chaotic will only let you upload so many attatchments based on the size of the files. To decrease the size of each screenshot, you can crop a certain portion of the entire screenshot to use. To crop an image follow these instructions.
The most comprehensive way to crop in image in paint is to select the "select" tool. It looks like a box. next to the "star tool" as I call it. When you c l i c k on that you will get a different moust looking cursor. At this point, you can cl ick the mouse and drag it to select a certain area. Let go of the mouse when you selected the area you want (you can always use the undo button to go back and try again). Now you must copy your selected portion by hitting Ctrl+C. Then go to file->New which will open up a new file. Paste your new cropped image into there and save it.
Also, PC users have the option of just taking a screenshot of the active window (such as the Chaotic pad when it is running). To do this, hold down the ALT key when hitting the Prt Scr and you will just take a screenshot of that. This makes cropping much easier, or not needed at all. Thanks to OmenIV for this tid bit!
If you're using a Mac based system:
Press the apple (aka command button) and while holding that down hit Shift 3. This takes a screenshot of the entire screen and will be more memory. If you press the apple (aka command button) and hold that down and press the Shift 4 button, it takes a screenshot of a chosen area of the screen. This will often be less memory because you are selecting what part of the screen to take a screenshot of. These images are saved to the desktop usually as .png files.
If this helps you please let me know. My goal is to get this pinned so everyone (just think of all the new players Chaotic will be getting in the future) will be able to see it whenever they need to!

| This is great Knowledge to pass along. I would like to see this maybe pinned for people to learn. That way we can cut down on the amount of cheating and players's that use words in the chat they should not be using. Otherwise its word against word. Nice job Hyper.
MODS: this would be a good PINNED TOPIC. |

| Thanks warwick
My goal is that this will help people out. Please, if this helps you, post something letting everyone know. We're trying to get this pinned for all people to be able to see (just think of all the new players Chaotic will get in the future who won't know how to take a screenshot!) |
